Mrs. Nivedita Joshi has learnt under the Kathak Maestro Guru Pt. Rajendra Gangani of the Jaipur Gharana, Guru Mulla Jafar Khan of the Banaras gharana and guided by Mrs. Manisha Sathe. Nivedita has been teaching dance in Indian schools for several years and was a full-time dance teacher at the Singapore Fine Arts Society (SIFAS), the oldest arts school in Singapore. Nivedita has participated in various dance festivals in India and abroad. She has collaborated and performed with various other art institutions and mediums in Singapore such as Bhaskara Arts, Apsara Arts, the Indian High Commission in Singapore, Media corps, various dance productions of SIAFAS, On behalf of the Indian Embassy in Bern, On behalf of the Sahaja Yoga Meditation in Strasbourg, Bern and Basel. Mudra Art Academy Switzerland in collaboration with Samvedan - Germany (Mr. Deodatt Persaud) has performed a dance production called Krishna Raas in Munich and Göttingen.

She brings out the best in you, encourages you to challenge yourself and ensures that you enjoy the process of learning dance. I was one of the lucky students to have started my foundation in Kathak under her tutelage and she has inspired me in many ways. Her classes are always fun and there is always something new to learn from her. Apart from learning the techniques of dance, I have also learnt to look at the positive side of things and appreciate what I am able to do now, instead of worrying about the past or future. Dance has always been my safe space and I owe it to my Gurus for allowing if to remain as such. As an adult leaner, Nivedhita ma'am gave us the time and space to flourish as grow at Kathak dancers and grow at our own pace. She creates a sacred environment for her students to appreciate Kathak as a classical art form and pushes us to form our own meaning & expression of dance. My name is Reema Kumari. I was a student of Guru Nivedita Mam in Sifas. I always remember
that day when I got my first ever experience with classical dance. In the first day
of my class, I asked Ma'am whether I am able to learn and dance this classical form like Kathak.
I still have the beautiful face in my mind with the cheers in her voice she said
"Yes, definitely you can". That's how I started my classical journey with her.
I learnt Kathak for 5 years with her. She is polite, calm, joyous in nature and
full of positivity.
She makes every step so easy to follow. She is an artist with great patience.
She is very graceful and her expression is mind-blowing.
We all celebrate so many moments together with her that made her proud.
Time flies and she has chosen the path to explore more and new opportunities
in her life with her amazing abilities. I wish her all the very best for the

Nivedhita Ma'am "The best teacher have met till day" With great compassion for the work she does, With great patience in teaching which kids love to be. As an adult student the experience I had was very great which can't be expressed in words. With passion in learning a new dance form even though experienced with classical dance, the comfort teacher gave me was enormous. Being doing a 'chakkar' or a difficult step, the way she comforts no while teaching gave me a motivation all these years to go forward while taking exams. Indian Folk dance means to exchange joy and happiness. To get over the tiredness and strain of hard work man founded this art which gives relaxation. Folk dances are not bounded with any particular style. Folk dances are created by the society for the sake of the community. Folk dances are based on native traditions, geography, profession, tribes etc. Folk dance has its own uniqueness and common thread is the idea of getting over the hardships of life by celebrating and sharing of joy and beauty of nature by dancing in groups. In India has plenty of folk dances. There are few popular folk dances such as Garba, Dandiya (Gujrath), Ghoomar, Kalbeliya ( Rajasthan), Bihu ( Odissa), Jogawa, Gondhal,(Maharashtra), Bhanra, Giddah (Punjab) and so on.

Yes, our dance classes are available for beginners and those who doesn’t have any previous learning or dancing experience.. Everyone is welcome to learn and grow together with us. Our faculty maintain a positive, joyful atmosphere at all times allowing everyone to feel involved, engaged and enjoy themselves. Prerequisites are not particularly needed if you want to start Bollywood /semiclassical/folk dance classes. In the beginner classes, we begin with the basic technique and easy choreographies.
